Security: administrator password and rename

The Security tab gathers the VPS protection and access settings.

1. Anti-DDoS Protection: DDoS protection is always on for the VPS and cannot be turned off
2. Rename: the name shown in your portal. It does not change the machine name in Windows. Confirm with ✓
3. Administrator password: type the new password twice. It must be at least 6 characters with an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter, a digit and a symbol
4. Change password: applies the new password

The VPS must be running

The password change goes through an agent installed in Windows: the VPS must be running. If it’s off, start it from the dashboard first.

After the change, connect over Remote Desktop with the Administrateur user and the new password.

Best practices

• A long, unique password, never reused elsewhere
• Change it as soon as someone who knew it no longer needs access
• To share portal access without giving out this password, use sub-users
