Windows VPS troubleshooting

  1. The username is Administrateur (in French), not Administrator
  2. In the sign-in window, choose More choices → Use a different account: otherwise Windows tries your PC account
  3. Check the password (caps lock, AZERTY/QWERTY keyboard)
  4. Forgot the password: change it from the Security tab (the VPS must be running)
  1. Check the VPS is Online on the dashboard, otherwise start it
  2. Check the IP address you use (IPv4 block)
  3. Open the console: if Windows shows up, the issue is the network or the Windows firewall. Check Remote Desktop is enabled (Settings → System → Remote Desktop) and allowed by the Windows firewall
  4. If you created rules in the Anti-DDoS, check the Remote Desktop port (3389 by default) isn’t closed

Windows put the display to sleep: click in the black area, move the mouse or click Ctrl+Alt+Del. If nothing shows up, click Reconnecter (Reconnect).

The VPS must be running: the operation goes through an agent installed in Windows. Start the VPS, wait a minute, then try again.

Check the statistics then Windows Task Manager to find what uses the CPU or memory. Windows Update can also slow the VPS down while installing updates.

Still stuck? Open a ticket with the VPS ID (vps-…).
